Having a Ball Decorating Christmas Cakes
Posted on: December 15, 2010
We’ve been having a ball decorating our Christmas cakes this year and we thought we would share a couple of our latest creations.
These Christmas Cupcakes were heaps of fun to decorate and although they were a little time consuming they were well worth the effort. We are extremely happy with how they turned out and we have found that our cake decorating supplies definately came in handy. In order to create these designs we used our;
- Snowflake Impression Cutters- for the snowflake cupcakes
- Holly Impression Cutters- Holly on the puddings
- Lindy Smith Indian Scroll Cutters- for the mustache on the Santa faces
- Red Powder Colour
- Brown Powder Colour
- Green Plastic Icing
- Red, green and brown large cupcake papers
- White Petinice Fondant
- Black Plastic Icing
- Bakels White Chocolate Cake Mix
- Round Cutter Tin Set- to cut the prefect rounds for the cupcake tops
- Rolling Pin
- Green Plastic Decorating Board
- White Courverture Chocolate
This Christmas tree cake was a thank you gift for someone special and we really enjoyed creating it for them. It is always fun to have creative freedom when decorating cakes. We again found our cake decorating supplies were very useful. We used our:
- Valerie White Cake smo0thers- to create the smooth cake cover
- Red Powder Colour
- Colourful Sugar Confetti- as the lights on the tree
- 6mm Silver Cachous- as the string of beads on the tree
- Clay/Craft gun-for the twisted icing rope around the base of the cake
- MDF Plain Cake Board-covered in red fondant
- White Pettinice Fondant
- Large Rolling Pin
- Ribbon Cutter- to make the adorable bows on the tree
- Bakels Chocolate Mud Cake
- Dark Courverture Chocolate
We hope that these images offer some inspiration for your own Christmas cakes. We would love to see your creations and answer any questions about our useful range of cake decorating supplies.
